Smiley Tots Party Favors - August 2009

Stitches used:

Sl st- slip stitch, sc- single crochet, hdc- half double crochet,

ch- chain, st/sts- stitch/stitches, FO- fasten off

Joining Rounds

Join with a sl st in the 1st st of round.

Materials:

3 colors worsted weight yarn:

     MC-body, CC-arms, legs & trim, CF- mouth and eyes

Safety eyes-optional

Hook size G - 4.00mm

Stuffing & yarn needle

Arms and Legs - make 4 with CC

Ch 5, make 3 hdc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in the last 3 chs.

     (6) FO leaving long enough tail to sew onto body.

Body - make 2 with MC

Rnd1) Ch 2, 6 sc in the 2nd ch from hook. Join. (6)

Rnd 2) Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around. Join. (12)

Rnd 3) Ch 1, (sc in st, 2 sc in the next st) repeat around.

     Join. (18)

Rnd 4) Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join. (18)

Rnd 5) Ch 1, ( sc in st, 2sc in the next st) repeat around.

     Join. (24) FO and weave in ends.

Embroider Face & attach eyes to one piece of body now as in the picture.

Sew on arms & legs between rnds 4-5 on that same piece with about 2 sts between them.

Joining front and back pieces - with CC - stuff as you go!

Holding both pieces with the wrong sides together, join CC with a sl st, (ch 1, sl st) in each st around. Join. FO.

Weave in ends and it's done!
