Peek-a-boo toes baby sandals

Peek-a-boo toes baby sandal pattern!  Christal Friend - April 2009

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Size 0 - 3 months / 3.5 inch sole

Added size changes in brackets for 4, 4.5 & 5 inch soles!

Materials- G hook, small amounts WW yarn in 2 colors MC and CC,

     yarn needle, buttons for trim.

Stitches used -

     sl st - slip stitch,  sts- stitches,  ch - chain,  sc - single crochet,

     hdc - half-double crochet, dc - double crochet,

     sc dec - single crochet decrease, dc dec - double crochet decrease

     Join- slip stitch to the 1st stitch of the round.

Sole with MC

Rnd 1) Ch 10 [11,12,13], 2 sc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in the next 2 chs, hdc in the next 3 chs, dc in the next 2[3,4,5] chs, 6 dc in the last ch, then working on the opposite side of the starting chain, dc in the next 2[3,4.5] chs, hdc in the next 3 chs, sc in the next 2 chs, sc in the same ch as the 1st 2 sc of the round. Join. Ch 1. (23,25,27,29 sts)

Rnd 2) 2 sc in the 1st st, sc in the next 8[9,10,11] sts, 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts, sc in the next 2 sts, 2 sc in each of the next 2 sts, sc in the last 8[9,10,11] sts. Join. Ch 1. (28,30,32,34 sts)

Rnd 3) Sc in the 1st 2 sts, 2 sc in the next st,  sc in the next 9[10,11,12] sts, 2 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, sc in the next 2 sts,  2 hdc in each of the next 2 sts, sc in the next 9[10,11,12] sts, 2 sc in the last st. Join. Ch 1. (34,36,38,40 sts)

Sides and top

Rnd 4) Work in back loops only for this round!

Sc in the 1st 3 sts, , ch 6[7,8,9], skip 6[7,8,9] sts, dc in the next 6 sts, ch 5[6,7,8], skip next 6 sts, dc in the next 6 sts, ch 6[7,8,9], skip the next 6[7,8,9] sts, sc in the last st. Join. Ch 1. ( 4 sc, 12 dc, 17,20,23,26 chs)

Rnd 5) Sc in the 1st 3 sts, sc in the next 6[7,8,9] chs, sc in the next 4 dc, skip next 2 dc, dc in the next 5[6,7,8] chs, skip next 2 dc, sc in the next 4 dc, sc in the next 6[7,8,9] chs, sc in the last st. Join. Ch 1. ( 29,32,35,38 sts)

Rnd 6) Sc in the 1st 10[11,12,13] sts, hdc in the next st, dc dec twice, dc in the next 1[2,3,4] sts, dc dec twice, hdc in the next st, sc in the last 8[9,10,11] sts. Join. (25,28,31,34 sts)

Fasten off MC!

Top trim with CC

Rnd 7) Join CC with a sc in same st as joining, sc in the next 8[7,6,6] sts, sc dec 2[3,4,5] times, sc in the next 1[2,3,2] st, sc dec 2[3,4,5] times, sc in the last 7[6,5,5] sts. Join and Fasten off. (21,22,23,24 sts)

Sole Bottom

With CC repeat Rnds 1-3 of sole, do not fasten off!

Hold this piece against bottom of shoe, matching up stitches, slip st through both loops of CC sole and left-over loops from MC sole. Slip stitch all the way around through both sole pieces.

Fasten off and weave in ends! Repeat for 2nd shoe.

Rnd 5) Sc in the 1st 9 [10,11,12] sts, (ch 2, skip the next 2 sts, sc in the next 2 sts) 5 times, sc in the last 5 [6,7,8] sts. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. (34,36,38,40 sts)   Fasten off!

Top

Rnd 6) Join with a sc in the 8th [8th,8th,9th] st to the left of joining. Sc in the next 1 [2,3,3] st, 2 sc in the ch space, (sc dec over the next 2 sts, 2 sc in the next ch space) 4 times, sc in the next 2 [3,4,4] sts, loosely ch 14 [16,18,18] and sl st to the 1st sc to join. Ch 1. (18,20,22,22 sc, 14,16,18,18 chs)

Rnd 7) Sc in the1st 2 [3,4,4] sts, dc dec 7 times, sc in the next 2 [3,4,4]sts, in one loop only sc in each ch around. Join with sl st to 1st sc. Ch 1. (25,29,33,33 sts)

Rnd 8) Sc in 1 [2,1,1] st, sc dec 2 [2,3,3] times, sc in the next st, sc dec 2 [2,3,3] times, sc in the next 1 [2,1,1 st, loosly sl st in the next 14 [16,18,18] sts,. Join with a sl st to the 1st sc. Fasten off! (7,9,9,9sc, 14,16,18,18 slst)

Thicker sole recommended for bigger sizes!

For thicker sole repeat rnds 1-3 and holding this piece against bottom of shoe, matching up stitches, slip st through both loops of this piece and leftover loops around bottom of shoe.

Weave in ends and sew on buttons as shown in pictures.

Materials:

     2 or 3 colors of worsted weight yarn

     I hook

Stitches used:

     sc-single crochet, hdc-half double crochet, dc-double crochet,

     FO- Finish off, st-stitch

With starting color ch 4, join to form ring.

Rnd 1) Ch 2, work 12 dc's in ring. Join to 1st dc. (12)

Rnd 2) Ch 2, (dc, fpdc) in each st around. Join to 1st dc. (24)

Rnd 3) BLO! Ch 1, (sc in 3 sts, skip 1 st, 5 dc in next st, skip 1 st)

     repeat 3 more times and join to 1st sc. (32)

Rnd 4) Ch 2, (dc in BLO of 3 sc, fpdc in next 2 dc, 3dc in next dc,

     fpdc in next 2 dc) repeat 3 times and join to 1st dc. (40)

Rnd 5) Sl st into next dc, ch 2, *(3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc) in next st, skip 2
